I teach clinical skills to physiotherapists across Canada. I am a student of all things divinely human connection, the purest form of art. I enjoy assisting people with growing their power communication skills in my role as a Connection Coach. I am also a speaker on all things, therapeutic alliance, and practice delivery. I was a Canadian Physiotherapy Association Medal of Distinction award winner in 2021 being recognized as an individual who had a significant and meaningful impact on the physiotherapy profession in Canada.
“If you ask me what my poetry is I must tell you I don’t know;
but if you ask my poetry, it will tell you who I am.”
I am a passionate poet. You will find my poetry written under the name of Jamie Millard. Creative writing and poetry have played a big part of my own self-reflection process. Poetry has assisted me in navigating the uncertainty of being a clinician as it embraces the mystery of just being alive. We can never trade mystery for mastery. An ardent bard celebrating the magic of expression, my quest as laid out by Rilke has always been to Live the Questions, in Widening Circles. The questions that have no right to go away. The questions that deal with who we are becoming. Are we a falcon, a storm, or a never-ending song?
I enjoy weaving poetic expression into a creative literary hermeneutic tapestry of biology, science, arts, humanities, psychology, sociology, compassion, mythology and spirituality while sharing the mysterious rapture of this incredible odyssey of growth as a body in a soul. We are love. Writing in a style that entwines poetry, with blog and essay my creative contributions have been recognized with a Medium Top Writer in Poetry award designation.
